I
KNOW WHAT YOU NEED (2005) I know it is not the best movie, it is not the best dollar baby and it will not be the best movie I will ever make. It is something that was a great learning experience and I really owe it all to Stephen King for letting me take a solid story and trying to make it into a watchable movie, which I believe I did. I need to thank a lot of people for making this movie happen. First, Michelle Revelle of the SKEMERs newsletters was the person who helped me get in touch with Stephen King to begin with. Liljas-Library.com and Bernd Lautenslager of StephenKingShortMovies.com both gave me lots of publicity since the beginning of the project. James Madison Davis and Andrew Horton were the professors who helped me both make the script work and helped me get the University of Oklahoma to let me shoot the film there. Gray Fredrickson was the one who helped me learn how to schedule the movie to begin with. Heather and Donny Souza bought me my camera. Sean Deadwiley bought me my shotgun mic. Craig Russell got me my editing software. Jaime Miller and Michael and Laurie Johnson let us use their homes. Cafe Plaid, The Vista and Perfect Swing let us shoot there. Geoffrey L. Smith and Tony Moyer for showing our trailer on their local public access show, The G-Spot. Kevin Real for sticking with us through the entire four years of the production. Colin Warde for coming aboard when we needed to replace an original actor. Magna Talent for working with us to secure young Kyle Dickinson for the movie. Adam Hale for doing a bang up job in his small role. Boots Kennedye for shooting some beautiful footage. I Know What You Need was a huge labor of love and we wish people could see it and make a decision for themselves whether it is good or not, but it is not allowed to be shown to the general public outside of festivals. Regardless, it is a movie I am proud of and something that I will always look back on as where I really got my start. All thanks to Stephen King. PAGE 1 / PAGE 2 / PAGE 3 / PAGE 4
